"I used to eat this as a kid! Do you smell that!" I overheard this in my booth at the Camel City Craft fair this past Saturday. He wasn't talking about the apple inspired fragrance, but about Honeysuckle Breeze. I'll admit I've never eaten honeysuckle, but maybe next time I catch it on the breeze I'll track it down for a taste. According to Our State Magazine, you "Pinch off the end, pull out the middle, and lick that tiny drop of “honey.”
Honeysuckle grows across all regions of North Carolina according to the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, so no matter where you are in NC, you've probably come across this sweet aroma. If you haven't, I hope you can track it down this summer for the smell of a sweet summer moment!
