Carolina Boardwalk Inspiration

Carolina Boardwalk Inspiration

Memorial Day is my favorite holiday (next to Christmas). I often go with a friend to her hometown, Jacksonville, NC, the home of Camp Lejeune, the largest Marine Corps base on the East Coast. I'll admit my primary goal is to get some beach time at Topsail or Emerald Isle after the mild spring in the High Country of North Carolina. The 2023 holiday weekend was a wash out with the weather, but when the sun came out we hit the beach and did a photo shoot for the Carolina Boardwalk candles!

A note about the image directly above with the cobalt blue Anchor Hocking tumbler, is that it faces the same direction as the cover photo for the Carolina Boardwalk label. Most of the images in the NC fragrance line are from Canva, but the Carolina Boardwalk image is from a picture I took at Emerald Isle in the fall of 2021. It was my mom’s 70th birthday trip and would end up being her last trip to the beach before passing in December 2022. Having that image on my first line of candles allows me to bring her with me on this unforeseen candle journey! See original image here:

This has been the most popular customer fragrance so far. I’m sure mom would like it! It freshens up a room even without being lit. My goal was to create a sense of joy and peace that I often feel at the beach, especially in North Carolina! I was going for a woodsy fragrance like you’d get from driftwood, a pier, or a deck at a beach house, but I think I ended up with something a little fresher with a hint of fruity sunscreen ☀️ .

“This fragrance carries the sage seasoned driftwood and dune grasses of morning beach walks to the orange peels and peaches of evening sweet treats on the boardwalk.”

Happy summer, y’all!
